- Ride and Hike
A Brecon-based taxi company with a difference! Ride and Hike provides a pick-up and drop-off service for cyclists and walkers. Perfect if you fancy walking or riding a linear route. Groups of half a dozen can be accommodated thanks to a six-seater vehicle and a six-bike trailer.

- The Baskerville Arms Hotel
Nestled in the village of Clyro, just over a mile from Hay on Wye, the hotel offers 9 en-suite rooms, many furnished in a lovely contemporary style and all with WiFi internet access. There is also a cosy bar, and deliciously extensive menu in the candlelit restaurant.
- Castle Street Restaurant and B&B
A grade II listed townhouse in the centre of Brecon, with a warm welcome for cyclists and walkers. Three bedrooms are available, and can be combined to make one large family suite. The attached restaurant uses locally sourced produce and fairtrade ingredients to create delicious meals for lunch and dinner.
- Cwm Deildre Holiday Cottage
Cwm Deildre is a well appointed self-catering holiday cottage (sleeps 4-6), nestled in a private sheltered valley near Llanidloes in Mid Wales. The name means leafy bower at the end of the valley - an idyllic getaway.
- Hardwicke Green
Situated in the beautiful Golden Valley, three miles from Hay-on-Wye, Hardwicke Green B&B is a perfect base from which to explore Herefordshire and the Black Mountains. Set in six acres of gardens and meadows, the historic property offers comfortable en-suite accommodation.

- Old Radnor Barn
Friendly, four star B&B in the village of Talgarth. Located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, the 300 year-old, grade 2 listed buildings have been lovingly restored by proprietors Stephen and Lynn. A great base from which to explore the Black Mountains.

Wales' answer to YouTube - a website packed with user generated content all about activities in Wales. Backed by Visit Wales, the site has lots of interesting info, and you can upload your own snaps to the growing online photo gallery.
- Wye Valley Canoe Centre
Situated on the banks of the River Wye in Glasbury, 4 miles from Hay, the centre hires out Canadian canoes and kayaks. Paddle downstream to Hay-on-Wye in 2 hours, or to Whitney (a 10 mile, 4 hour trip). The hire fee includes collection and transport back to Glasbury.

- Bredwardine and Brobury
Charming Bredwardine and Brobury are located on the River Wye, about 8 miles from Hay on Wye. The community website is an excellent source of both historical and practical information about these neighbouring hamlets.
- Crickhowell

Local Festivals
- The Hay Festival
Hay on Wye is transformed by the annual festival of literature, which was started in 1988 by a small group of local people. It now has a global reputation as one of the best book-based festivals around. Accommodation is hard to come by during the festival, but the temporary Tangerine Fields festival campsite is a great option.
- The Ludlow Marches Food & Drink Festival
This festival has been going since 1995 and gets bigger and better every year. A really good opportunity to taste some of the best regional produce in the September sunshine.
